It might be fair to say that those who enjoy the sport of fishing may very well enjoy the sport of golf. Both sports pit you against yourself in a way and offer a respite from the day-to-day. So with a little bit of that thinking, as well as a search for some fun, a tournament set to take place in Camdenton, Missouri, is combining the two, according to the Kansas City Star.

Some 20 professional fishermen will take part in the novel event that is set for the Old Kinderhook Resort and Golf Club. They include the likes of Guido Hibdon, a legendary bass pro who took the Bassmaster Classic title in 1988.

Hibdon and others will begin fishing at 7 a.m. on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31 and then weigh in around 1 p.m. each day. After that, the groups will split off and play nine holes of scramble-style golf with various golf professionals from around the area.

Winners of the two-day event will be based on a combination of bass weights and points earned for pars, birdies and eagles. The first-place winner will take home $5,000.
