Though technique and strategy will probably play a bigger role in deciding the next Bassmaster Classic champion, some good tackle doesn’t hurt. With that in mind, here are a few new tackle options released just in time for the Classic.

Zoom 5-Inch Swimmer Swimbait

This one is a hollow-bodied, paddle-tail swimbait. Its shape and profile has been streamlined over the past year with input from lots of avid swimbait anglers as well as tournament pros. Tons of color options are available and come in packs of three for around $7.

Missile Baits Head Banger Jig

Fishing Pros John Crews and Mike Iaconelli have been working on building better mouse traps when it comes to jigs that are tournament-ready. They want them to work in the toughest and most competitive fishing environments, even those with highly pressured bass. The new Head Banger jig offers a football jig that comes through rock and wood cover with ease. Plans are to offer this bait in ½-, ¾- and 1-ounce sizes.
