Ever been out on the boat and hooked a big fish? Remember the struggle and the fight to get it caught? All the action can pass quickly, but the chafes and bruises from supporting the rod with your stomach or thighs can last.

A Kickstarter campaign has launched to support the development of a new belt buckle that could help keep things a bit more comfortable the next time a big fish comes along. Its creators are seeking $20,000 to support what they’re calling the world’s first fish-ready fishing belt buckle.

The function of the Fishing Buckle they’ve developed is pretty simple — just open its latch and put the base of the rod in for support. This can be done quickly when a big fish strikes, much quicker than putting on a full-size fighting belt, meaning you have the extra help there when you need it and a regular belt buckle the rest of the fishing trip.
