There is some spectacular bass fishing coming out of California’s Clear Lake this year, according to Wired2Fish. The bounty of big bass is so fruitful, in fact, that editors at the site are wondering if the lake is the best one in the country.

Over the course of the winter and spring, there have been some massive hauls out of Clear Lake. Some anglers have even gone so far as to pull out 40-pound bags of bass and local fishing guides have put many clients on 30-pound bag limits this year already.

Those same guides say that baitfish populations in the lake are booming, and that the density of bass there is so great that it’s truly surprising. Five and seven-pound bass are common nowadays, it seems.

So, we’d like to know.. Is Clear Lake the best bass lake in the country right now? Have you ever fished at Clear Lake? How was your experience? Please consider leaving a comment to share your thoughts!
